Our theme this week and next week is Winter Wonderland. Today during circle time our book was the mitten by Jan Brett. The children did a mitten worksheet. Cut out all the animals and glued them to the mitten. It was fun to see if all their animals would fit on the mitten.
In home preschool and child care. This blog will share ideas and what we're doing in each week in preschool/child care... :)

Arctic Animals
This week out theme was Penguins and Arctic Animals. During circle time, we did a polar bear and walrus graph. Using a spinner each day, one of the children would spin to see what came up more by the end of the week. As you can see Walrus won 4 - 1. We also kept track on a sheet of paper. (Good source for counting up to 5 and seeing the visual for each number.)
Our book during circle time was If You Were a Penguin by Wnndell and Florence Minor. We learned that we do some of the same things that penguins can do. Swim, walk, hang with friends, slide, and sing.
Our letter of the week was J. J for Jordan, Jessica, Jean, Jacket, Jellybean and Jump rope. Our shape was heart, number 9 and color white. We did some cute crafts. We made an igloo, penguin and polar bear, plus our other additional sheets.
The next 2 weeks will be Winter Wonderland.
